ATONs & PATONs (Aids to Navigation & Private Aids to Navigation)

Just joined here. Am with the CGAuxiliary on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. One of our activities is to verify the conditions of the many markers, buoys, lights, etc. on the waterways.

I have used OpenCPN before for other purposes. I thought it might be helpful in this arena.

NOAA's ENCs are very useful in locating these items.

However, I just download some of these charts into OpenCPN and noticed that some of the items I see on the NOAA chart are missing when I open the same chart in OpenCPN.

Can anyone comment on this?

Welcome,

your question would be better asked on the OpenCPN forum.

Note there are a lot of Vector Chart settings that enable/disable the display of various ENC features. These settings can be found in either the "hamburger: menu at the bottom right of the screen or in Settings->Charts->Vector charts.

You may also want to peruse the user manual available on the OpenCPN web site

Welcome to CruisersForum!

I would suggest updating your profile with your general location and your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.
