Beneteau 321

My wife an I bought a 2000 Beneteau 321 the spring. We are not new to sailing but new to this boat.
We live in Victoria, British Columbia and spent the last week cruising the Gulf Islands on our new boat. What a wonderful experience! We spent time on Saltspring Island and North and South Pender Islands.
I look forward to sharing ideas and questions on the site.

Congrats on the new boat.

Saltspring Island? This is off topic but have you heard of Sydney Banks?

The Sidney Banks, also known as the Sidney Spit is a great day trip from the Van Isle Marina in Sidney where we keep our boat. Attached are a couple of photos.Click image for larger version

Re: Beneteau 321

Wow that Beneteau is sharp.

I actually meant Sydney Banks. He was a man who lived in Salt Spring Island, became famous after having a spiritual experience back in the 70s I believe.

Anyway, enjoy.

Hi Again,
Yes, I certainly know about Sydney Banks. He was a great man although largely unknown locally. Thought you might find the link below interesting.

Thank you Plangstraat,

Actually I didn't know he died from cancer.

His is an incredible story, one that changed my life.

I have a video of Syd talking about his experience if anyone is interested.

I'd appreciate seeing the video of Syd if you are able to pass it along.

Been out all day looking at sailboats go by (and daydreaming). Saw a few Beneteaus by the way.

Here's that video. When I was first introduced to this, it was suggested that a person listen with a calm mind instead of letting the ego get involved with its judgements and what not. Hope you enjoy.

Re: Beneteau 321

Me and my wife spent a week in may doing a live aboard course in the gulf islands. Anchored in saltspring and Pender. Poets cove was great.
I would love to have a full time cruising ground like yours.
My favourites were telegraph harbour on Thetis, and Wallace Island is pretty cool.
That's a great boat for the area as well, congrats and have fun!
