Just wanted to say hello from London Ontario. . . and yes I am a newbie and am hooked on learning all there is about sailing so I can buy my own boat and hopefully retire...Lola

You need to come south and enjoy warm weather sailing unless you want to purchase an icebreaker.

Bienvenu,

Take classes. Read Chapman's Piloting and Small Boat Seamanship. Go take on the water sailing lessons. (Not now, in the spring when it warms up.) Hitch some rides. The people who race little sail boats always need crew and it's a good way to learn the basics.
