Canadians Downunder

Hello fellow cruisers,

We're a family of four from Vancouver, BC who have been cruising offshore now for 20 months. We are currently in New Zealand with plans to depart for Vancouver early April 2009 aboard our Tayana 48.

Aloha Malachi from a Canuck in Hawaii. Welcome to the forum. Have a safe passage. Hopefully with the economy, you have something to come back home to.

G'Day Guys,

Welcome and good luck with the cruise home.

But whilst the Kiwis can nick the Americas Cup as well as the Bleddesloe one with the oval ball, they can't nick the nick names.

Downunder is I am afraid, not kiwiland.

It is that big warm golden land to their north west that a huge percentage of kiwis look upon with awe and respect...........or did I perhaps mistake the facial expression?

Was chatting on Skype with the kids in Auckland yesterday. Grand-daughter (2) in a summer dress, mom in jeans and t-shirt.... and here it was 8C. But sunny, very sunny.

Hope you're enjoying that antipodean summer. Oh, and welcome aboard.

(Our long-term plans -- as much as one can have plans these days -- include living aboard in Auckland (or somewhere like that) for the Kiwi summer and then coming home for summer here. Any info on living aboard in NZ would be appreciated, especially from the Canuck point of view.)
