Cape Dory 300 Motorsailer - Delaware

Hello,
We just joined after buying our most recent boat,Cape Dory 300 motorsailer.A lot of thought went into the design of this boat.,big and confortable for a 30 footer. It sails pretty good for a motorsailer. The boat is located at Lewes,Delaware for maintenance etc.Next March we will move the boat to the Cambridge,Md area. Our previous boats were,Gulfstar 39,Gulfstar 44,Irwin 43,to many for sure.
Happy Sailing
Richard

Good luck with the new boat, I remember lusting after one, when CD 1st came out with it. Glad to hear that it sails well..too!

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Richard.

Congratulations on the new boat!

I presume you’re aware of the Cape Dory Sailboat Owners Association, and the brochures & manuals available for download.

Re: Cape Dory 300 Motorsailer - Delaware

I've been looking at the CD 300 but haven't been aboard one yet. Would you consider it a a full time liveaboard? My present boat hasn't seen a dock in seven years.

When I see open shelving and seating in the cockpit with no storage lockers built in, I get the feeling I'm looking at a weekender. Does it have a chainlocker capable of stowing 100-feet of heavy chain? And where do the anchors sit?

Would be interested in your comments.... Thank you.

Thanks Orion. The trouble with these sailing associations is they tend to be gushers, or they wouldn't join the association. Anyway, I've visited the site and didn't see much of interest. But thank you... I guess I need to see one of these boats in person.
