Re: Clear lake Texas

There are no moorings here.

As far as a cheap slip, what sort of repairs are you hoping to accomplish? This will point towards certain marinas.

You can anchor as well…..but it’s hot!

Re: Clear lake Texas

Several boats on the hook in clear lake. Blue dolphin has some pretty decent slip deals accessible to your draft.

Re: Clear lake Texas

I will check out blue dolphins or just throw a hook, where would be a good place to throw a hook with a 4 foot draft and not to far from dry land

Re: Clear lake Texas

Welcome.

I would suggest updating your profile with your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.

Re: Clear lake Texas

Clear Lake Marine Center for DIY and or cheap haul out.
Blue Dolphin is pricey in comparison. Ditto Seabrook Marina. Forget Watergate and the others.

Clear lake is shallow but on the west side of the channel into Clear Lake Marine Center is generally 5 to 6'. Straight out from Barge 495. You should be aware it's mud so use an oversize anchor. Also be aware if there is a North wind of two or more days the water in the Lake and the Bay drops. A lot. Typically this happens in the Winter but you may get stuck in the mud.

There are two mobile pump out boats which I would appreciate you using. Red Fish Island. And Maritime Sanitation Services. You can drop a hook in Clear Lake as long as you don't piss someone off. Make nice. The Fish and Game guys will eyeball you but are generally nice guys. The CG may too but they are mainly doing training when they stop by.
