CLIPPER 23 looking for some insight.

Hello good folk of the forum i have acquired a clipper 23 and Im looking for any advise. After much research i have realized this make is no the best quality of sail boat. I own and operate a fiberglass trailer manufacturing company in Alberta, Canada and am very familiar with fiberglass construction i have completely stripped the interior and gone through the inside hull and the fiberglass seems sound. thinking of laying some woven matting through out the hull for added strength. The boat has 2 keels that are bolted and fiber glassed into place. Wondering if anyone is familiar with this style of boat and wouldn't mind answering a few questions.
Thank you

Welcome to the forum. I say and mean this in the kindest way. Do not put any money into a Clipper. It is barely a lake sailor. If it's complete, try selling it and making a couple of bucks (or not) and get something that suits your needs better.

Re: CLIPPER 23 looking for some insight.

Thoen,
I have a CM26. It is the swing keel version. What kind of questions are you looking for answers to?

I have been going through mine getting it ready for this season. I am not familiar with the twin keel version, but I think it is pretty cool. These boats were designed by a very well respected designer. These particular boats were designed to be light weight trailerable sailboats, so they are definitely not blue water type of boats, but they do float and sail.

There are still quite a few of this make of sailboat still afloat, and apparently being sailed regularly.

There is another forum that might be better suited to answering some of your questions, and that is the Trailersailor.com group. They are geared around a number of different trailerable sailboats, and have them sorted by manufacturer.
