Re: Creative Help Needed

Again, wow. Thank you all for your help and once again proving that boaters are among the most hospitable and helpful people out there. You've given me some great ideas and a few good laughs and most importantly helped out with my story. You all are wonderful people and I wish you all good seas and warm ports!

Re: Creative Help Needed

You could always use reality. Truth is always stranger than fiction.

One a few years ago - if I remember the details correctly.
Off the Qld coast (North Eastern Australia) 3 men in the 50's bought their dream boat and were sailing it to Perth.

The boat was found floating at sea, calm water, no storms nor bad weather, noone on board, no sign of a struggle, the table set for a meal and the fenders over the side.

To my knowledge noone has ever found out what happened.

Then there is the horrible accident now about 2 years ago.
At Flinders Islet, just south of Sydney. 3 people died.
If you google Andrew Short Australia you may find information about it. He was the owner skipper and helmsman.

The accident was at night and the enquiry found that GPS was out for few hours that night. Yes GPS does occasionally go out of whack. Not sure if by acccident or by design. The conspiracy theory is the US military control it and sometimes make it 'wrong'. And they hit the Islet. Hard.

The skipper was eventually pulled from the water, dead, still holding the wheel. Wheel and he went overboard.

Very experienced skipper and crew.

Re: Creative Help Needed

The accident referred to above was Kaz II.
There is a Wiki here Kaz II - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Truth is indeed stranger than fiction.
The 'conclusions' section suggests a possible scenario
