Cruising in N. & S. Carolina

My wife and I purchased a Hunter 30 in Charleston,SC and are planning on cruising the next couple of months throughout the Carolinas and.?? Anyone have any can't miss suggestions in North or South Carolina? We are going to be in Myrtle Beach in August to see our daughters and are staying at Doc Holidays marina. After that we really aren't sure. If it matters the boat is great condition and I have my 100ton captains lic. so we're not blindly leaving on an adventure like the guys sailing from Catalina to Santa Cruz..Lol....

welcome to the forum,
I don't have an answer for you, but there is a destination section in this forum- might help.

Happy sailing,
Erika

Dream...Welcome. Clairborne Young's Salty Southeast Cruisers Net has state by state cruising info on many great places.
Dock Holidays is a nice marina...you should enjoy it there...and the choice beween the Italian Restaurant and Hooters is yours alone to make!
I find little to recommend sailing wise in SC though Charleston is a great destination...but NC is a great area for cruising once you get north of Beaufort. Don't miss the Pamlico and Albemarle sounds and the Neuse River for excellent sailing and lots of nice towns and places to visit along the way...Beaufort...Oriental, Ocracoke, Manteo, Elizabeth City, Bath are all within easy day crising reach of each other and you won't be in a rush to leave any one of them!
