Dino,

Welcome aboard.

We have many members from almost everywhere. I'm sure your knowledge of Italy would be useful to some and your destinations may also have local people to provide information about where you want to go. We all are boaters and so there is a great deal here for everyone. Perhaps we will meet on the water.

Hi Dino,
I'd echo Pauls welcome and look forward to learn more about your part of Italy. My Italian daughter-in-law always told me Naples was somewhere I should never go with my yacht. Was she telling the truth?

Hi everyone,

Altough I now live in Naples, I have been living and sailing in many places in Italy.

What can I say about going sailing in Naples? There are some things you surely will not like such as some plastic floating around but the landscapes and the places are simpli fabulous: Capri, Ischia Procida, Sorrento, Amalfi just to name some places are worth a visit. MAybe you could rent a sailing boat and enjoy the places with no hassles.

Since my kidsa re at a summer camp, two days ago my wife and I sailed actoss the Costiera Amalfitana and Capri and spend last night moored in front of POSITANO. We had fireworks for a religious holiday, a super dinner in a beach front restaurant and this morning we sailed all around Capri.

It has been simply gorgeous.

Look for some pictures on the web of the places I mentioned.... The good thing is that a number of new marinas are opening in the area. My boat is in Marina di Stabia - Web site.

Take a look and let me know what kind of detailed information you may need or just interested in.

Dino

Aloha Dino,
Welcome aboard! I was in Naples in the 80s on a U. S. Navy ship. It was an interesting city to visit.
Kind regards,
JohnL

Hello Dino,

We will be coming through your area later this month...so any suggestions of where we should stop and visit would be appreciated. Your marina, Marina di Stabia looks really nice.

We crossed from Spain to Corsica and did visit the Maddelena Islands. We then followed the west coast of Corsica and are now in France, near Nice. We have no plans except to follow the coast of Italy south to Sicily.

Thank you for any suggestions you can give us.

Jim
