First post from Xtraordinary

Hello everybody,

This is my first post since I became a member last week. My name is Peter Goedendorp (from Holland) and together with my wife Jeanine I own a 48 ft X-Yacht,named Xtraordinary.
In 2005 we sailed her from Holland to Palma de Mallorca and last summer (April-October) we sailed to Greece, Albania, Kroatia, Italy and back to Palma de Mallorca. This April we will slowly go to the Canaries in orde to cross the Atlantic in December. I found your site when I was looking for another anchor. We have a 20 kg. Bruce ss with 70 mtrs. chain but were never happy with it. Last week I ordered a Manson 27 kg galvanized anchor in the UK and I hope I will have it next week and that we will be happy with it.
Can somebody mention a site with info about SSB, I just bought a new one but would love to get some tips/info.

Hope to hear from somebody.

Regards,
Peter Goedendorp

The forum search engine can check to see if something gets your questions based on posts we already have. Otherwise post a new thread in communications and ask a question. Mention what SSB radio you bought and what you want to know about. There certainly are a lot of potential questions. We have a fair number of members that have SSB radios that would happy to join in the discussion.

Hi Peter,
Welcome also to the forum. Hope you find it useful.
We too have just purchased and installed a new SSB - Icom 802 with Pactor modem for sailmail - using whip antennas.
If anything we've researched / done can be useful to you, just let me know.
Cheers
JOHN
