Welcome aboard! When I saw the thread subject, I thought it might be something on provisioning. :-)

Welcome aboard, Manny!
Is this place great, or what? I've been a day-sailor longer than I can remember, but I've got cruising in my future, and I learn something new every single time I log on here. Great people, great info, great fun!

hi george, sorry, i tend to be a dried fruit, beens and rice kind of sailor. any fresh meat comes out of the sea. it's not as bad as it sounds as i mostly do coastal cruising, usually 4 to 5 days out. oh, and chocolate, how could you go without it.

Hey, Manny,
Well, I'm jealous of a sailing trip to Mexico. I'll be pulling my boat out of winter storage in a couple of weeks, for some lake sailing.

It is very nice here right now, but you know how springtime in the Rockies can be. We set a record for heat in April, hitting 89 F over the weekend. It was actually about 92 on my back porch. And by Friday, it's supposed to be 30 F and snowing. Could be some wild weather on the road to Missoula! That is a wonderful little town. I work for the Forest Service, spend a lot of time there, always been looking for a transfer up there, but it's never happened. Whenever I work up there, I always spend my evenings walking around town. It's the only town that size I've ever been in where drivers will routinely stop if they see you step off a curb, just to let you cross the street. I think Missoula is a throwback to the way life used to be in the smaller cities of the West. Ogden is somewhat like that, but it's changing fast. Getting to be too much like Salt Lake and Denver.

Hope you have a great trip. Post pics if you can!
