G-Day from AdelaIde, South Australia

G-Day all, my name is Nick and just started my research into purchasing a live aboard yacht. I have sailed as a youngster (raced cats) owned a trailer sailor. After being off of the water for 12 years I purchased a 28' sports cruiser - having a great time off of the coats of Adelaide - however my wife and I are now keen to purchase a yacht and expand our adventures. Experiences from others are invaluable to people like me starting out. My first look at the forums has given me plenty to think about - thanks to you all and I look forward to chatting in the future. Happy new year and safe boating.

Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick,
We are from Adelaide too! Just left in fact - we are now around at Pt Fairy in Victoria waiting for the right weather to head over to King Island and then Tassie. You will find this forum an amazing resource.
Good luck, hope to see you out here!
Michael and Caitlin

Hi,

I'm from Adelaide too..still here for that matter.

Have just bought a 5 year old Bavaria 44 Vision located in Greece and off this coming April to sail it around the Aegean for a bit before deciding what to do next.

Good luck to you in your research and journey.

Port Fairy...the home of Australia's first tuna boat the Tacoma built in the 1940s by the Haldane brothers (3). The 3 families sailed the boat to Port Lincoln and the rest is history and the boat is still there. How's that for trivia.
