g'day

g'day,
my interests are generally messing about on or in the water and studying marine algae. I hope to get back to cruising sometime soon but am constrained by vagaries of life. My experience is many years as a professional fisherman in Bass Strait, a cruise around the south cast of PNG and across to Australia in a small self built alloy tri, local daysailing in a Jarcat 5, and generally mucking about in small boats. I plan to build a Rob Denney Harry when the bank balance and work commitments are more favourable.

Aloha Robert,
Welcome to the forum of like minded people. Messing about in boats of course is my favorite pastime too.
Good to have you here.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

G'day Robert,
Welcome to another Aussie. This forum seems to be a nice place to mess around in when not on board. I spent a couple of years in the Torres Straits based in Bamaga, nice part of the world.

Hope to get back up to Bamaga. I missed out last time as I ended up with giardia at TI and wussed out and pulled the pin. May be moving back to the Territory at the end of the year and could possibly sail over from there
Thanks for the welcome from all
Robert

Torres straits are pretty good I had a bit of luck to be flown around pretty well all of them for a week in a helicopter.

Beats the hell out of Bass Strait!!!!!
I have not long finnished the book There Was A Ship by Patsy Adam-Smith and really want to put my nose down there sometime
