Welcome to the forum. Sorry can't help with information on Duncansons. Is that people, place, boat, marina?

Then to further reveal my ignorance, Tassie? Is that southern hemisphere slang for Tasmania?

Got it for ya:

Robert Scott Duncanson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"a freeborn person of colour" who was an artist. New York - which I think is somewhere in America....

Does this help? Not sure why you're asking on a cruising forum tho - do elaborate....

Duncanson built his boats initially in Webb Street, Port Adelaide. His early designs were uncannily like the Compass designs built by the bloke he worked for when in Sydney, and who went broke. That uncanny likeness led to the courts, but Dunc prevailed.

In his heyday, he turned out a large number (for Oz) of vessels which were popular and proved to be good sea boats. I think they are nothing-special as vessels but they sold well.

In our club grounds, we have the moulds for his forty footer and his 31 footer, and a bloke who used to work for Dunc is currently preparing the 31 mould to pop out his own new toy. See it here.

Careful Ken, I've been reported for less than that. Translated, Ken's post is really an expression of deep longing, affection and admiration.

Based upon mutual respect and healthy rivalries of football teams and state boundaries.
