Getting Started Here

Hi Folks,

This is my first post here.

I sail lake Ontario out of Frenchman's Bay YC near Toronto on a Niagara 35 Mk1. I'd like your advice on a suitable dingy and davits for it. I am planning to head south next year.

thanks,
mgg

Aloha Mgg,
Welcome aboard!! I hope you like the forum. You'll geet lots of opinions and needed help.
If you do a search for dinghies you'll see lots of recommendations. I'm old school and prefer a hard chined hard dinghy, 8 to 10 feet. Currently I have an 11 foot nesting dinghy. I don't use davits because they would get in the way of my windvane. Dinghy comes up on deck forward of the mast via separate dinghy boom that has mountings on the forward side of the mast. You could use a whisker pole or spinnaker pole and attachments.
Kind Regards,
JohnL
