Got our First Sailboat !!!!

The dream is beginning... We got our first sailboat!! A beautiful 68 Cascade 42. It'll be our future home. So now the real work begins. Redoing the head and next is the galley. Already made the dinette and v berth cushions myself. Came out like a professional job. I've learned so much from the CF forums...so thank you all for your posts. Have A LOT MORE to learn - did I mention I'm learning to sail on her? Yes, I go for the gusto! You don't always have to start out small, do you? I'm exited and terrified all at the same time! Feels great.

there a 2 great days in owning a boat, the day you buy her and the day you sell her. But as soon as she is gone you want another. Congratulation on the boat, I am looking to buy my 4th one soon. You do learn lots on this forum. Boat are so much fun.

congrats! We are undertaking the same exciting venture and I agree with you. Jump in with both feet. No regrets. We are going for sea trials and survey in a couple days on a 1977 Gulf Star 50'. Seems like it will do just fine. Sail on!!!

Good to have you here and congratulations on the Cascade. I have hull number 32 (not a pilothouse) and is about the same vintage as yours. I'm in the rebuild process and have been for quite some time. If you have any questions about Cascade stuff I might be able to help.

We did the same... a month & 1/2 ago. 47' Ketch and we're living aboard. Wife has no experience, I've got some offshore from many years back, and like you said... LOTS TO LEARN! Enjoy the ride as we're learning to...

Stupid saying - if the days in between are so much less fun then buying or selling, why even bother? For me, everything in between buying and selling are the happy days
