Greetings!

Hello to all! Newish to sailing and newer to the forum. Looking forward to having many more adventures and meeting many new friends. It's interesting the change sailing can have on a person, and it's certainly changed me and my lifestyle, for the better. I've been sailing for almost a year now, starting off on tallships as both volunteer and paid crew for daysails, deliveries and yard work. This summer, I took a break from schooners to work on a 44 ft catamaran on a delivery from RI to Chicago via the Erie Canal and Great Lakes (amazing!) where I was deckhand, cook, sometimes captain (gasp!) and conversationalist. Then a delivery of a Tallship this spring, who was coming from a tour of the Great Lakes- I got on in Norfolk and helped bring her down to key west. I then worked on the same boat in the yard before leaving that crazy party island and hopping my way to ft lauderdale where I grabbed onto a friends boat, went on a short trip to the Bahamas where a bunch of **** broke (jib sheet winch O_o ) and we had to come back to Florida to put her up against a dock north of ft Myers beach- a few days before reaching there the propeller shaft sheared at the coupling and we were all sails afterwards. It was quite a victorious ordeal tacking upwind into the anchorage in Ft Myers Beach! I have recently left that boat in our parting ways and desires of where to go next. I obviously believe the best way to learn is to jump in head first, and it's very challenging but very rewarding. And sailing fits in terrifically with my photography and writing... So now that I have rambled on; Hello, hello!
