Re: Greetings

Thanks. It has been a rough week. Got a call from the Marina manager to say my boat was sinking. Technically a catamaran cannot sink (I think). The Boatyard Manager had keys and was very helpful in pumping out all the water on the port side. The culprit was a corroded valve and tap. The boat builder I bought the boat from used a bronze fitting instead of stainless steel. Fitting has been temporarily changed but I will have to. Heck all the fittings and replace with stainless steel[emoji15][emoji85]. I am new to sailing and sailed many many years ago.

Most boat sinkings (or floodings) happen in the slip due to similar failures.

The thru hulls on my Wildcat are all Marelon...no problems in 17 years.

Bronze is a great marine material. Yours was, IMHO almost certainly, brass.
