Greetings and Salutations

Hi all, I’m a newbie but passionate mariner. I’ve been sailing my Elan 43 in Sydney Australia as a yacht share and completing coastal quals. Have had a life upheaval so am selling everything, buying a boat and heading off with my cat Malo into the sunset (eventually) to circumnavigate. As I’m moving from a new boat yacht share to an old boat total ownership minus the bells and whistles, there are many things I need to learn about caring for her as well as the never ending learning curve of sailing her, particularly solo. I’m obviously scared - both of my ability and my wallet - but I’m going to do it (slowly) anyway. I’m doing ocean yacht master and passage in January and will do a diesel engine course at some point soon.
This will be my last really big adventure as I’m 51 and hopefully will sail for the next ten years or so and meet some other brave and lovely souls on the way.
