Hi All
Just dropped in to say " may the wind be at your back and your seas be calm".
I'm in the ten year prep phase to launch the dream. Have sailed and raced in the great lakes, now live in Alberta. Am getting "certified" (ISPA) to charter on my own. Am interested in getting some off shore experience so am willing to crew in the PNW.

If you are looking for some more experience, Calgarians are avid sailors. The Glenmore Sailing Club (Glenmore Sailing Club - Calgary, Alberta) has one of the most active San Juan 21 fleets around; they are often looking for crew. If you show up at the Heritage Park boat launch on Wednesdays at about 5:00 - 5:30 with a pfd, shoes and gloves you may just get a ride. Beer and burgers to follow at the club house. At least three of the San Juans are owned by ISPA instructors. A couple of other instructors are crew.A couple of the San Juan instructors are partners in a Beneteau 36.7 which they race out of Sidney.

The Foothills Association of Cruiser Sailors (Foothills Association of Cruiser Sailors) meets once a month. They organize trips out on the coast as well as elsewhere.

The Calgary Yacht Club is at Chestermere, they also organize trips to the coast.

Just curious - with which sailing school are you taking your lessons? I work with a couple on the coast as well as one here in Calgary.
