Greetings from Melbourne (Australia)

Hello community and thanks for inviting me in. I found the site looking for info on the 140kg load around my neck called a Bukh diesel. Nice engine shame about the outrageous cost of spares. $70 for an oil seal -found one for $9, thermostat $170, on to one for $30 and on it goes.
My boat: almost finished restroration of a Lorne couta boat that is a high-peaked gaff rigged fishing boat used off the southern coast in the first half of the last century. A half-decked boat not particularly suited for cruising.

A warm welcome from Perth from an ex Bukh owner - it can only be described as a love / hate relationship.

No Jim, It's a Higgs Bros built in Geelong. Been told it's the only one they got right. Another builder reckons it's a Peter Locke based on the fill planks in the stern on the reverse curve. 1/2 inch oregon on 1/2 inch jarrah frames. Been at it eight years just the motor and jibbom to go.
