Greetings from Peterborough Ontario

Hi all Willy here. My only other and I are researching sailboats, and have narrowed it all down to 5. We would not have been able to do it with out reading what others have done. I tend to live vicariously thru others, or had. We plan to sail and live aboard in Lake Ontario for the summer to get the fell of her, then head south to where ever the wind blows. Neither of us have extensive experience, but we both have ambition and the love of adventure. This site has and will be a main stay for our education in sailing. We are at once excited and scared of what lays beyond. When the deal on our boat is finished I will update my status. until then, thanks for the excellent and most times amusing reading.

Greetings WillyWozy as you have experienced this is a good forum for knowledge, do you care to share your final list of 5. Have you sailed before, as others have said before if you are not scared you are a fool, keep us up dated on your new purchase and how you manage living aboard.

Re: Greetings from Peterborough Ontario

Hey Willy,

I've got friends in Peterborough and love that part of the world. Went through the locks there once on the Trent Severn and would love to take my boat up that way one day, of course not this time of year!

Good luck in your sailing adventures and as you shift away from vicarious to first-hand experiences.

Welcome from a fellow Canuck living in the US. You're doing it now!

Ahoy to you from down on Pigeon Lake. Icebound outside of Bobcaygeon.
We lived aboard on Lake Ontario for nealy ten years, so if I can help with anything let me know.

I'm also a marine surveyor if you don't already have someone lined up!

Here is one from Lake Ontario a couple of winters ago:
