Greetings Skippers =:>

Just stumbled across this great site and wanted to introduce myself.

I'm Edwin Campbell, born in Cape Town, South Africa and having traveled extensively, I am now "settled" in San Francisco.

I have 2 current projects: #1 - A 1970 Taipan 28' which I love - It is on the hard and 1/2 way through a major re-build of the hull, also being repowered, etc, etc. #2 - A 1980 53' FC Samson C-Lord, also on the hard and being repowered.
Man, I can't wait to get either one of these babies back in the water!!

Welcome aboard Chaos. You have lot's of good sailing ahead in the bay. THey say that every condition you will ever face cruising can be found in the SF Bay. My experience leads me to believe that this is accurate

Aloha Captain,
Welcome aboard. This is a great forum in which to receive large amounts of sympathy when it comes to projects which you wish to complete. Good information as well. Hope you get more done on your projects than I have in the last few months.
Regards, --JohnL--

Thanks for the warm welcome!!
A quick question - I have an older Volvo Penta MD2B but it has a very rare gearbox (Type MS) with a reduction ration of 3.42:1 and I am trying to locate the "normal" one (Type RB) with a ratio of 1.87:1. Supposedly the MS can be fitted out with internal gears to change it to 1.91:1, so that would work too. Any ideas?? Where should I post this enquiry?? Thanks.
Chaos, out.
