Hi all. Looking forward to learn and hopefully help with imputs where I can.
I have a degree in building sicence and currently do not own a boat except a ski boat which is a great family get together toy.
Planning to buy a 50+ cat around 12 to 24 months from now.

Yes, greetings! I second Kapena's comment that a 50 plus foot cat will be a BIG step up. How large a familly do you have?????

Hi all and thanks for the warmth welcome.
Just in response to Southern Star I will be sailing it with my wife. We do have a lot of friends that I expect to come and visit and give them a taste of the fantastic seas.,
I do know it is a big cat and it is proberbly due to my inexperience but at this time I think a bigger cat is safer as a blue water boat.
My vision of what I want to do is to buy a cat overseas and have it sailed back to Australia with an experience skipper and learn the ropes on the way back before aproach doing it myself.
Anyone with comments to do such a thing would be very appriciated.
