happy owner of a X-382

Hi,

I'm Tim (31y) from Bretagne France, I'm a happy owner of a X-382 mkII from 2002 which is... walking... really really fast.

I'm not racing, because I don't really like competitive situation. Except when there is another boat cruising in the same direction, then it's game on (and when I loose I always assume that the other guy put the engine..) !

Pixel is name. For some reason, there is a tradition of using X in the name of an X. fine with me.

I made this crazy "mistake" 4 years ago, the boat was in perfect condition back then, but covid locked me away from nearly 2 years. And today the boat need a lot of care.

The issue is that I don't really know how to use my 10 fingers, so i'll crave for advices. I need to learn how to do the most thing by myself, instead of relying on professionals, and that's a long way to go.

I'm also looking for people with the same boat (or same kind), to know what kind of sailing they did, and if I could use my Pixel for a 2 or 3 years break far far away from home. Maybe even cross the ocean(s) ? But when looking to cruising boat it seems that it have a long way to go, to be as comfy.. Especcialy as I don't want to break the beautiful line and to make it too much heavier.

Watching youtube influencers make me want to go to the other side of the world, but they all have huge 40-45 boats with tons of tools/water/fuel, which scare me a bit with my "small" fast boat with 200L of fresh water

Greeting to you all !

Re: happy owner of a X-382

Welcome.

I would suggest updating your profile with your general location and your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.
