pirate Hello all from (currently) Rainyland

Have been looking at cruisersforum.com for quite some time, but this is first post to say hi all. About 6 years ago, when we were gunkholing in the San Juan Islands, WA, my wife asked if our 27' Chris Craft SeaSkiff would make it to Hawaii. Sadly, I had to tell her it would be unlikely. So we went from 27' camper to 55' ketch. It's all wood (mahogany strip plank, etc.). A year ago we proceeded to quit jobs, sell house and everything in it, move aboard, and start the long process of getting our new home/transportation ready for points beyond. This forum has been extremely helpful as progress continues throughout the various systems that need attention. Even with various states of demolish and rebuild (did I mention this was a wooden boat?) we've simply enjoyed living aboard amongst the mayhem and sawdust. Our current aspirations include getting somewhere south before winter sets in. Of course this assumes there will be a spring/summer/fall first up here in the Pacific Northwest. Cheers everyone!

Aloha Hal and Nancy,
Welcome aboard!! Good to have you here on the forum. I just passed through Bellingham to and from Vancouver last September. I like the area. Does it rain there? Just kidding! I live in the wettest city in the U. S. with 120 inches a year but at least it is warm. Hope to see you when you sail here.
Kind Regards,
JohnL
