Hello CF from PNW

Greetings and happy new year from the Pacific Northwest. I've enjoyed reading threads on this forum for years, but decided to step aboard as an active member. I don't own a sailboat but have friends that do and have been fortunate to have done some sailing with them to the point where I'm confident that I'll be purchasing a boat upon my planned retirement in a few years. Current plan is to retire and relocate (or vise versa) to south Florida and cruise the Caribbean. I love the Bahamas and have taken annual vacations there for years and have visited most of the out islands, occasionally renting power boats. I've been stranded on ambergris cay overnight so I'm personally acquainted with the hazards of the bank. I'm looking forward to participating in the CF community! Cheers
Joe

Re: Hello CF from PNW

Welcome.

Skagit bay or Skagit county more generally?

I'm a Seattle boy stuck in Socal.

Thanks. I've lived in the Seattle area for 20+ years, but spent a lot of time fishing / floating the Skagit and have a Dec DOB, so thus the moniker.

I lived in Seattle for 26yr. Been here just shy of 14yr. Would move back tomorrow if I could.

Have very fond memories of La Conner. Fact is there is a watercolor of the Rainbow bridge directly in front of me across the living room.

Re: Hello CF from PNW

I know La Conner well. I tied the knot at the Hope Island Inn. I've done a lot of sailing / boating in that area. From what I understand it's a nice place to keep a boat.

Bula from Fiji Joe and Happy New Year,

Hoping that you'll gain help and useful information from the forum.

Always do feel free to post your own thoughts, questions and ideas here on CF. The forum only works when people post, and 95% of members here seem reluctant. Don't be a lurker.
