Hello CF world!

Hello all... thanks for admitting yet another newbie to your site!

Originally German, lived all over southern Europe, South America and the US. Around the world many, many times - by plane. Can't shake that urge to one day spend a few years doing it on a sailboat!

First sailing experience was on Ron of Argyll in the Whitsundays back in 2001... yeah, that will get you hooked. That, plus staring at all those retired gorgeous super maxis plowing the waters there. Now in northern California, I got started on certifications but little experience. Have ASA 101, 103, 104 (bareboat complete) and 114 (cats). Trying to do some nearshore-offshore this summer. Mostly out of Santa Cruz, occasionally Sausalito.

Week-long charters here and there for the next few years... and if all goes well I might be crazy enough to jump off the cliff and go liveaboard in (semi-)retirement about four looooong years from now.

Best wishes to all, and always "eine Handbreit Wasser unterm Kiel" -
Matthias
