Much better! Let's try and get you some response! What type of boat are you looking for, monohull, multi, trailor-sailor, powerboat? This is a great forum to stack the pro's and cons on any boat that interests you, and I'm sure whichever one you fancy, there'll be an owner or two here! Have you sailed much or just starting? any favourite cruising grounds or special plans? Welcome again, sorry for all the questions but the good folks here will happily jump in on this thread when you ask something specific. Fair winds!!

Welcome Jack! You are doing exactly what most would suggest: Crew on some boats to get an idea of what your likes and dislikes are. Start keeping track - pros and cons list and then when you get enough info, you can whittle down on that list as to what is most important. Then the fun part starts!!! Looking for a boat that meets your requirements.

Good luck!

Aloha Jack,
Welcome aboard!! I think all of us started somewhere? At any rate its good to have you here and I hope you enjoy the forum.
Recently I went for a sail with a fellow clubmember on his older Columbia 28. I was very impressed with its accomodations and sailing characteristics. I also like Bristol 32s. They are both worth looking at. Whatever boat you become interested in it is worth mentioning here on the forum because there will be a ton of opinions come back from forum members.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Aloha Jack,
I don't know if you've gotten any replies concerning sailing in St Augustine but if you started a new thread entitled something like "St. Augustine Sailing" you might get more responses.
Kind Regards,
JohnL
