Hello from Colorado, and Soon...

...Queensland! I've been living in Colorado Springs for a few years and will be moving to Gold Coast, Australia around February 2012 to take up a new position there. I learned to sail as a youth growing up in Miami, Florida but have been living inland for many years. I did manage to sail aboard rented boats a handful of times along the way, most recently on Lake Dillon in the mountains west of Denver. After moving to Australia I hope to buy a modest sailboat, get out on the water regularly and really learn what it's all about. Of course I also have dreams of ultimately crossing oceans, but I've got a few more years to work first.

I've been lurking on CF for sometime and finally felt I had something to say! G'day and thanks for all the great sharing of info and advice here.

Welcome. You will be in time for the Santuary cove Boat show in May.

In 80's I spent a week in Colorodo Springs snow bound for a few days when a national Emeregency was declared with people trapped in cars on road and I recall some dying.

Watched the College basketball finals with Magic Johnson and Larry Bird playing.

cheers
