Hello from Miami

Hi to all

New to this Cruiser's Forum.
Living in Miami, with a foot in Marathon. Planning to retired with first mate in June 2012. Boat is an Endeavour 35 year 1984.. We are preparing the boat for cruising the Florida Keys, Gulf coast, the Bahamas, during the winter month after retiring.

without getting into the cost issue, I would suggest asking yourselves what area would you like to live in.. not necessarily a specific name or geography, but rather a list of things you like and dislike..

noise, pollution, traffic, crowds, climate, etc...

I am sure Miami is like many other metropolis' with the exception it is located on a ocean beach... I am sure most of Miami is crowded and has traffic.. and i am sure Miami has waiting lines to get into some restaurants..

if those things dont bother you then I am guessing Miami is nice for you...

I am hoping that parts of Miami and other florida coast towns/cities are less expensive for housing, and the area is clean, and quiet...

those are my priorities...

Currently, I am looking at towns just north of Miami... Stuart, Indiantown, etc...

easy water access and cheap, and clean...

good luck to you...
