Hello From Mississippi

Hi,

My name is Steve, and I just joined the board a few minutes ago. So, I thought I'd drop by to say "Hi!"

Unfortunately, I don't own a boat at this time. However, I do own quite a few marine HF/SSB radios that I enjoy working on and also talking on.

I use them on the ham bands, only, as I really, really like the "voice squelch" feature among other characteristics they share.

It's great to be a member of the community, and I look forward to interacting with you all. Oh, and if any of you have questions about stuff related to HF, I'll do my best to help as I was trained to be a communications technician by the military and have lots of practical experience piddling with all sorts of radios and antennas.

Welcome aboard Steve!

Lots of decent used boats usually for sale down on the coast. Hopefully you can find one you like soon.

Welcome to CF, Steve! Good to have another Ham on board to help some of our cruisers with their SSB questions.

Welcome aboard Steve, we may take you up on your offer once we get ourselves moving. We hope to be in your neck of the woods come the end of the year. As cruising is a state of mind, you're more than half way there.

Thanks for the welcomes!

I'm always happy to share what I know, and if I don't know something (especially about radio), I can usually find the answer, somewhere.

It will be nice to have a boat, someday. I've never owned one, but have spent time on the Gulf Coast enjoying the use of our friends' vessels. Fun times...

Thanks again, and I wish all of you a great week!

There's always questions about HF and getting the kinks out.
