Hi Mark,

Welcome to to the forum. Not familiar with Palacios TX. Assume on the coast somewhere or are you on a lake?

Welcome,
I bet that the only people that can corectly pronounce Palacios are the ones who also know how to say Mexia! This forum needs more Texans!

Welcome aboard, good to see that the captain gave permission to board, now your stuck here with all us scallywags. I met a Texan once. A tourist driving by, he stopped, we chatted, I asked if everything was really that big in Texas. He told me that they don't call them farms in Texas, but ranches, said he could get in his truck at daybreack, and by nightfall he still was not at the other end of his ranch. Said I had a truck like that too.
Welcome

welcome from Austin, Texas. Here's another nice, helpful site with ties to Palacios. Small boats cruising long distances, & KISS principle cruising | sailFar.net

Did Ike cause you any grief?

Welcome from Corpus Christi. We've actually considered moving to Palacios, as we have friends there and in POC (Port O'Connor). We'll probably stay put for a year, but still CONSIDERING.

For those that don't understand TEXAN:

Palacios: pole-ASH-us
Mexia: meh-HE-a

and catch this one:

Refugio: re-FEAR-e-o

LOL...

Oh, no John. The LANGUAGE is the same. It's the pronunciation that is different!

My wife is hilarious. One of her "favorites":

"Ahm-on-ah" Translation: "I'm going to...".

Especially with a name like that... Where are you in CC? We're on "D" Pier.

We have friends with an Endeavor named "Honky Voodoo" (or "White Magic"). It took him a LONG time to get that name thru the USCG...
