Hello from Ramsgate UK

Hi,

We ( my boyfriend and I ) live in Ramsgate, UK and race a sailing boat during the summer and then we travel during the winter.

This year we have decided to buy a sail boat in the Caribbean and for the next few years, sail around the islands in winter and store our boat on the hard during the hurricane season.

I'm excited to join this forum to learn as much as I can from experienced sailors who ideally have experience of buying & sailing in the Caribbean, be a part of this community and hopefully one day be able to help others who plan to do the same.

I would suggest updating your profile with your general location and your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. Buying a boat in the Caribe is pretty straightforward, not much different to the UK.. registration SSR done online, the only delay may be in deregistration with certain flags.
However a decent broker will steer you through this.
