Hello from Texas

Hi ya'll, I'm in Baytown Texas and have been sailing the Galveston bay area for a few years. My experience is mostly on small trailer boats but have been able to sail with friends on some larger boats as well. I taught myself how to sail from reading books and then buying a Sunfish type boat to learn on. My Brother in law hooked me on sailing when he took me out on his Hobie Cat. Looking forward to learning much more from the folks in this forum. Thanks for letting me join in.

Welcome Tallswede, glad to have ya. I know your stompping ground well, lived in Friendswood for 15 years and fished the bay, East Bay was my favorite.

Hello there!!! Nice to meet you - and hey, we still still race our beachcats between cruises and yacht races - and one thing we have seen over the last 14 years is that the cat sailors ALWAYS make better yacht racers than pureblood yachties!!!!

Aloha and welcome aboard!
The Sunfish type is a great choice for learning. It teaches you sail handling rather well.
Good to have you here.
regards,
