Hello from the Great Lakes of Michigan.

Hello community!

My wife and I are sailors and boaters hailing from south Lake Huron area. We own a 37' Irwin Center Cockpit (1977) and (whispering) a Tiara 2500 1978.

Yes we are ambidextrous and I do take a certain amount of ribbing from both sides.

We started as power boaters but as I had sailed butterfly's as a kid I wanted to try sailing. My first trip was a solo sail from Sarnia, Canada (Port Huron, MI) to Mackinaw Island where my wife met me and we sailed the North Channel. That was in a 24' wooden boat, an Amphibicon.

Since then we have had 4 other vessels each a DIY opportunity finally stopping with our Irwin.

We now reside between Port Huron, MI and Lexington, MI.

As we are about 20 minutes from either Port, enjoy the beautiful blue fresh water of Lake Huron, and all that it has to offer. If there are any members coming to our area we would enjoy meeting for coffee or a drink, dinner, or just providing assistance or trip to a local store.

In our years of Sailing the Great Lakes we have been recipients of assistance on more than one occasion, and genuinely enjoy the entire boating community. (Yes we do like power boaters too.)

Although because of my 'retirement' job I am a commercial member, we are primarily interested in the non-commercial relationships of the forum.

Looking forward to chatting with and meeting some of you as you blow by.

Welcome to CF!! I grew up in Michigan and have fond memories of the beautiful Great Lakes, rivers and lakes! I don't get back that way -I'm now a West coast girl- but I know there are other CF'ers from that area.

CF is a great resource and hope you enjoy it!
