Hello from the PNW

Hi just thought i would introduce myself, I have been lurking for quite some time.
This forum seems to be a great source of info and entertainment. I came here mainly to research different boat options (my head hurts)for sailing the west coast frome the Columbia up into the San Juans, with the idea of combining sailing with scuba diving.

Welcome aboard from another PNW sailor/diver.

Boat options, I'd recommend one with a sugar scoop transom. I have to use my inflatable for getting in/out of the water.

Aloha Escape,
Welcome aboard! I just did a dive from an International Folkboat (26 footer) yesterday. I had to use a dinghy along side and put my gear on while I was already in the water. Doable but not comfortable. I used to dive from my Mariner 35 but again it required a dinghy alongside. The sugar scoop or a homebuilt swim step at the stern would certainly help. Some of the smaller motor sailers have quite a few different stern options.
Kind regards,
JohnL
