Hello from Wenatchee

Hello:

My wife and I are in the process of buying a 1984 Panda 34-foot sailboat. We are awaiting the surveyor's report, so the deal is not final yet. We will also have to have the boat shipped across the country, from Virginia to the state of Washington.
Does anyone have experience with shipping companies, and any recommendations?

thanks
Mike and Donna Cassidy

Hello, Mike and Donna.

Welcome to the Forum. I've heard that Wenatchee is the "Apple Capital of the World". Wish we could get some nice fresh one's down here where I live.

Hope the boat deal goes through. I'm sure you'll get some comments here about shipping.

Aloha Mike and Donna,
I guess Hud has the same problem I have in getting good apples. Welcome aboard! I have no experience trucking a boat but I know there are some here on the forum who have done it. You might post a thread on the appropriate discussion board.
Kind regards,
JohnL

Congrats, welcome aboard. Spent several summers on Lake Chelan, where you guys plan on keeping the boat?

Welcome aboard Mike & Donna! I can't offer any advice on shipping, we are still boatless.

My wife is actually from Wenatchee, born and raised out there. Her parents still live there, East Wenatchee actually. Let us know how the sailing is when you get your sailboat, I am curious!

Best,

Aaron & Jen

Thanks for the nice words about Wenatchee. It is very easy to live here... work is so close we can drive home for lunch... or grab a cup of coffee.
But we plan to keep our boat in Everett, which is about a 3 hour drive away over the Cascade mountains.
We have signed the paperwork, now we have the hard part of getting the boat to Everett. I guess I will try to figure out the "correct" forum to post in, to see if anyone has trucking advice.
Mike.

Boat transport

Mike,

try these guys - they're very close to Everett and they did an excellent job with hauling my boat from San Francisco to Olympia.
If they don't haul cross country they might be able to refer you to someone who does.

Great, thanks. I have just sent them an inquiry.
The place I have the existing quote from is Auto Marine Systems.
It will be nice to be able to compare quotes.
