Hello From WV

Hello to all. My name is RL but I go by Earl, long story. My brother and I sail a Catalina 25 om an inland lake in Ohio. A 78 Catalina 25, with a swing keel. Nice boat for our needs. We've sailed, in schools on the Cheasapeak and in the Keys. Great time, good schools. Don't know that we'll ever see blue water in a cruising experience but continually dream and read.
Just found your site and am looking forward to reading through the postings.

Welcome aboard!

Some people dream, some people do, some people just enjoy the build and the planning, we are all united by a single love

Welcome Earl,

The way you can sail the most works the best for me. It does not matter where you are if you are out sailing. It's where you wanted to be in the first place. Too many people running around not knowing where they want to be.

Paul,
You could not be more correct. Like the old bumber sticker say's "Any day sailing is better than a day at work". But reality says that sailing in a big lake in Ohio is nice but not the same as ... (you fill in the rest). But it sure beats not sailing.
We'd all love to make our sport more a part of our life, and then I'd like to be in clear blue water beside a white sand beach filled with palm trees. Yeah, that sounds good, and while I'm at it how about an umbrella drink and a 20 something 1st mate.
Did I say in my profile I'm a beancounter and someone just dropped a big pile of beans on my desk. So I gotta go.
Let's see 1 2 3 4 ....... AAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH

Aloha Earl,
Welcome aboard! You've "spilled the beans" about being a "bean counter." It reminds me that our local club needs a treasurer.
Kind regards,
JohnL
