Hello! Happy Saturday!

Well quarter life crisis is hitting at almost 22 so I quit my "fine" dining serving job making good money and sold all my things!

Today actually marks my first day "jobless", with a plan of living out of my car and campsites and driving all over the country in my old volvo. Just to experince whats out there and all possibilities.

Which brings me here, to try something new and also live a life with a bit more movement. Excited to read all through the forums and to meet new people.

The goal would be to work on a boat as a deckhand/junior engineer (idk lingo) not too worried about pay, but very handy with tools, and I feel I have alot to offer!

Cheers!
To the storys ahead,
ConnerP

Re: Hello! Happy Saturday!

Recently I've learned that life is more than it appears to be.

Good luck and enjoy.

Re: Hello! Happy Saturday!

Imho, and I will be castigated for saying this, 'serving' is not a career. It's a job. So you are fine to toss one in and hit the road. You can always find another job. It may not be 'fine' but if you need money flipping burgers can get you out of a corner.

If you are looking for professional jobs on boat head that Volvo to Ft Lauderdale. You want to get there within the next month, do your course STCW95 (obligatory) and get an agent to get you day work on boats ASAP. If you survive that you may get a full time job.

Don't delay. Pull finger out and get cracking.
Dockwalk.com is a good website to join.
