Hello, Jumped in Today

We are in the final stages of survey and offer on a 87 --48 foot ocean super sport. Has 6 53ti detroits. Any info or pros and cons would be appreciated.

We are moving up from 30years in bass boats and competitive angling. Want to change the lifestyle, slow down and take more friends.

Any comments appreciated.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
My only knowledge about detroit diesels is that the Navy really had a bunch of them when I was in and there was always an engineer at hand to take care of them. I remember 6-71s more than 6-53s. I do know that 6-71s are loud and not too economical.
Good luck on the purchase of your craft.
kind regards,
