Hello, "new" member here

Hi everyone,

I've been a member for some time but never posted anything. I have gained a lot of information from reading posts and following discussions and I thank everyone who contributes.

I figured I would introduce myself officially!

I am a geologist by trade and have spent much of my life in Alaska where I was born. Spent a few years in California, Montana, Utah, and Australia. I love to work on things so owning a boat is a good fit

My family has nearly always had a sailboat and so I grew up taking long summer vacations around the Prince William Sound area of South East Alaska. I have crossed the Gulf of Alaska on two occasions. Very amazing trip!

I am currently cruising with my wife in Mexico after saving up all our pennies over the years and living like graduate students well after we had nice jobs. We bought our boat Resolute, a Cascade 36 aft cabin, in San Francisco and spent a year working and refitting her. We keep a travel blog and are currently working on our new project of creating a video log series on you tube . Seems these have been causing some controversy on the forums lately with all the patreon activity. Not really sure why, seems there wouldn't be much to complain about. You can NOT give money and STILL watch the content... Anyways, my 2 cents.

Thanks for reading, hope to be able to keep in touch as often as I have internet, Rarely in Mexico

Good introduction.

Don't let a few naysayers stop you from enjoying yourself or making videos of your travels. Many people enjoy watching those videos (I am one).

Bon Voyage!

Great to see other like-minded young bastards out there doing it, especially with a dog! Thanks for sharing.

Love it! Nikka is a pretty integral member of the crew.
