Hello, newbie from Georgia

Greetings, all!

I've been lurking on these boards for over a year, so I finally decided to take the plunge and join.

Random facts about me:
  • Navy wife, married for the second time to the first husband. Hubster is currently deployed.
  • Navy brat. Yes, I knew what I was getting into when I married into Navy life again.
  • Two kids, ages 10 and 8, a girl and a boy.
  • Professional librarian. No, I can't get your fines erased for you.
  • Author of bad paranormal romances. Think Nancy Drew meets The Mummy.
  • 17 year breast cancer survivor. I'm only 38. I didn't think you could get it that young, either.
  • Former alpaca rancher, greyhound rescue driver and exotic dancer.
  • Currently living with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

So that's the quick and dirty on me. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Hey we're on Lake Lanier as well (except we're not really yet sailboaters...shhh)!

Well, welcome! We're newbies, too. I'm ex-Navy, my wife's a former Navy brat.

Aloha Marna,
Welcome aboard! Retired Navy here. Sounds like you've committed twice to the grueling duty of a Navy wife. Gluton for punishment? Congratulations on being a big C survivor. I am too so far.
Good to have you here. Do you sail?
Kind regards,
JohnL

Welcome to the forum. Lots of fun, lots of information, great place to learn about boats and get all you questions answered.

I'm not ex-Navy but I am ex-Lake Lanier (Pilgrim Mill Rd) now living in FL. It's closer to the ocean.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Woodsong, Skipmac, I'm up in the Squirrel Creek area--what's left of it. I'll be glad when they get some water back--we've come up a little bit, but we're still a good 18' below full pool, so my mom's dock is still high and dry.

Sinuous, I had a feeling there might be some other Navy types around here. Call it a wild guess.

SkiprJohn, congratulations! Surviving is always a big thing with me. I don't sail yet, but I will soon. The Hubster has talked me into agreeing to live aboard, so we'll be shopping for a large sailboat once he gets back on this side of the world.

Welcome aboard Marna from Georgia.

I too am a military brat, ex-military, and aspiring exotic dancer... The last one there never really panned out for me, much to my dismay.

Enjoy the forums.

Cheers

Bill

Bill,

The secret is to realize that for every body type, there is someone who finds it attractive.

Of course, that someone may currently be a resident of Arkham Asylum...

Welcome to a great website. Very informative and useful. Once hubby gets back in town, plan a trip east to SSI for a day on the water. Just let me know when.

Aloha Marna...I am an ex-wife survivor...I tried exotic dancing but ended up as a comedy act. Welcome to the forum.

As long as part of the body type criteria is "alive," I'm not too worried, Batman.
