Hello to New Friends

Howdy

My family and I enjoy sailing and have just decided to start working towards a circumnav. Best case scenario is that we'll leave in five or six years. Worst case scenario is that we'll leave in 10 to 12 years.

We've got two kiddos (5 and 6 years old) who love the water and sailing and will certainly come with us. We also love doing missions work, so, we plan on taking the slow road around the globe (probably two years) so that we can stop in our favorite locations to try to do some good while we're at it.

Our next step is to upgrade from our trailerable MacGregor to a slipped boat on a nearby lake so that we can start spending long weekends on the water. We can sleep on our MacGregor, but we need something that's a little more indicative of what we'll be living on one day.

So, that's us in a nutshell. Our friend, betachz, recommended this site to us and I can't wait to start reading up in the forums.

Looking forward to learning, reading, and discussing!

We sail Lake Lewisville and Lake Ray Roberts the most. It feels silly as compared to some of the adventures I've read about here, but we're going to get there.

We're always eager to make new friends if you are also sailing in these areas.
