And depending on the boat I am totally flexible on the good looking part...

It's pretty normal for Aussies and Europeans to take a gap year before uni anyway. Americans don't do that but a deep breath before you actually have to decide what to do with an entire life is not such a bad thing...

Then I suspect we're in agreement, bearphish, but surely you see that your sentiments, above, don't represent a triumph over nature or the elements. It is the emotions one seeks to master.

you can't tell me you were stoic and emotionally limp when you first pulled out of wherever you were leaving.

No, I wouldn't tell you that. But neither would I claim that first small step as a victory over anything but fear and self-doubt. I may have felt somewhat triumphant (or, probably, just relieved ), but I harbored no illusions that I had conquered nature and the elements.

tao, i don't need sympathy... i need a good lookin' woman with a bigger boat than mine!

Thumbs up

Hehehehe....

whatever became of that thread? wonder if she found him? i thought it was a practical joke...

"An understanding heart is everything in a teacher, and cannot be esteemed highly enough. One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feeling. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child." Carl Jung
yes, you are right tao... emotional triumph. relief, solice. a finality of self wonderment. i guess we all have had our reasons for shoving off. fear is the last reason i had to keep the dream in my head, and not on the water.
