Hey! from Jacksonville, FL

I am looking forward to the interaction on this site regarding any and all cruising related topics.
Currently located in Jacksonville FL and we have lots of water to work with for any water sports, especially sailboats and cruising, which I love.
I have limited experience in sailing but have completed the ASA 101 course and will continue to seek the other courses over time.
I do not currently own a boat, and have dropped my membership in the local sailboat club. I would like to offer my services to any boat owner who needs an additional hand on day sailing/cruising. I am willing to do so for free or chip-in for the expenses.
We will talk soon.

Howdy. We bought our old boat in Jax, was floating there off the NAS in the river for the previous six years. Sailed it to the Turks and Caicos. A memorable trip. We were in Jacksonville for two weeks getting it ready. I sure miss Copelands in Jax.

Re: Hey! from Jacksonville, FL

Jax is a great city. We have been living here since 1986 and raised our family here.
Copelands is a enjoyable meal and time.
Thank you for sharing with me. If you get up here, let me know. I would love to hear of your experiences.

Hello fellow Jacksonian, I wanted to ask about the sailing club you were in and if you would recommend it I'm considering joining a club to meet new sailors/gain experience. Glad to meet a fellow sailor up here in N florida!

The rudder club: pay a $250 sign up fee then $125/month and have your ASA101 and you can use their sailboats. They have many activities, social events, and regattas.

Re: Hey! from Jacksonville, FL

Thank you for the information. I will further investigate. I would really enjoy finding a relatively "social" club to be involved in.
