Hey guys! New here!

Just thought I'd drop in and say hello, introduce myself, and probably rant.. It's a habit I have.

Been reading the threads for a little bit and finally decided to register. I don't own a boat.. I just envy all of you guys that do! My ultimate goal is to one day buy a sailboat and make way to USVI and live out the rest of my days on ramen noodles and refilled bottles of water. My friends think I'm crazy, but to me it'd be a dream come true.

I'm 31, which sounds like an adult when I type it or say it.. But I couldn't be farther from. No joke, I'm laying on a mattress in the floor of my bedroom right now which contains a ms pacman machine and many Godzilla action figures.
I live to be a kid forever and be free. Luckily I bought a cheap foreclosure when the market crapped out, so I own my home, which makes it even easier for me to be a carefree weirdo. Always having a roof to go back to with no mortgage attached to it makes my world so much easier.

Anyway, what was I gonna say.. Oh yeah, I was saying hello! Nice to meet you guys!

Re: Hey guys! New here!

Sounds like you know yourself well Neutronbomb. Like I've said many times, life would be so boring if we were all the same!

Good luck with your plans and welcome to CF.

Thanks for the welcome, everybody!
I should have mentioned I'm land locked here in Atlanta, GA. My ultimate goal is to anchor out in the Virgin Islands and be a no good island loving bum, but I was also thinking about maybe starting out with anchoring off of Key West somewhere. That way, when the first set of boat disasters start happening and the engine explodes and sends my boxer shorts all over the bay, I'll be in an area where I can possibly find a job easier to help pay for a new engine... I'm sure ill have given up on new underwear by that point, though! So ill save a little money in that department.
I know there are a million other people with this dream, but I'm determined to make it happen sooner than later.
@albro359 that's exactly what I'm thinking!

Love how encouraging and friendly this forum is!

Yeah, and does anyone have experience replacing a galley with a pinball machine?

Re: Hey guys! New here!

Welcome. The answer to your first question here is no. I have no authority but believe me the answer is no. you are now free to ask your next question. My answer to your next question is NO. Lots of people will have other opinions even before we know the question.

Re: Hey guys! New here!

I sounds like you are going to need high output alternators and a gen set for electricity keep your operating going at sea.
