Hey Yall! Young Guy Looking Forward to Adventure

Hey all! New to the forum, and excited to see and read about everyone's adventures! I'm a 21 year old student here in Tampa looking forward to getting my "new" boat, a 21' project boat I got for a steal (i hope, if it dosn't become a moneypit hahaha). It's a Bayliner Buccaneer, which is deff. not the FASTEST boat ever built, nor the newest, but I plan on gutting the interior and making it my own personal portal to adventure!

I've also never sailed anything bigger than a daysailer so if you have any tips, sites, pdf's or ideas for my bathtub with a sail, hit me up I'm excited and willing to learn

Sweet. I'm excited for you.

Advice; Read a sailing "how-to" book, sail, take a cruising class, sail, make sailing friends, sail, fix what's broken, sail,...........in three years buy a bigger boat, sail.

Stay safe.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Don't gut the major bulkheads unless they are rotten. You'll need to save some of the interior for patterns.
Get a copy of "This Old Boat" and go from there.
"Start Sailing Right!" is a good basic sailing guide.

Sail her for three months before you do ANYTHING unless its vital to safety then do it a bit at a time, go sailing, make sure it works, then do the next bit.
