Hi From Norway

Hello Cruisers
My Wife and I got hooked on sailing in 2004 when we bought a catamaran (Prout 39) and sailed to the Caribbean and back during a sabbatical year. Our two kids (14 and 15 yo) where crew.
Ever sins that extremely pleasant year there has been only one thing on our mind. The Prout we keep in Norway; it is perfect for cold, windy, north Atlantic conditions.
In 2007 we bought a Leopard 46 witch we keep in the Adriatic. We spend some 8 weeks summertime there, and some odd weeks before and after.
The plan is to be liveonboards and cruise the world for 10 to 15 years beginning as soon as the kids are settled. It looks like it is still 2 to 5 years before we can go.

We are considering sailing the Leopard to St.Lucia to have more winter sailing, but we will see.
Currently we are on the hard in Preveza (Greece) for the winter(2009/2010).

Love to hear from You all.
Fair Winds

You are in for a treat! Give us a notice when its closing in and we'll if we can do anything for You.

We sailed from Azores thru the Irish channel to Norway. The best part was the Crinana Canal just south of the Caledonian Canal. It's not more than 6nm but the moste scenic nature possible. we spendt 3 days there....

Thanks Alan
As You know it is not about owning boats, but spending time in them... And we are "semi stuck" in Norway most of the year still, but planning.

We live on an island outside of Tonsberg south of Oslo, sort of in the south end of the Oslo fjord. Our Cruising ground is the Skagerak triangle in between Norway/ Sweeden/ Denmark. Steep waves and unpredictable winds, but we love it because of all the nice people and the friendly atmosphere. All but the cold....

We sailed up the west coast of Norway to Tromso from Sweden. It was an incredible trip, beautiful with wonderful people. And it's great to sail at night when the sun never sets!
Now we are in the Caribbean and it's more fun to be in the water. I did dive in the water north of the Artic circle, just to say I did it. That was stupid and cold.
See you somewhere, sometime.

Welcome aboard Steinar and Janne. Would love to hear more about sailing in Norway, and the North Atlantic. Do you keep a blog or website?

Thank you.
We used to keep a website when we where living onboard. It is still up there, but in Norwegian. The Google translate function works OK.
